BIO-MYCIN®  200

   
 

Description

Oxytetracycline Injection Antibiotic. Bio-Mycin® 200 is a sterile, ready-to-use solution of broad spectrum antibiotic oxytetracycline by injection. Oxytetracycline is an antimicrobial agent effective in the treatment of a wide range of diseases caused by susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Approved for lactating and non-lactating dairy cattle and all beef cattle.

Therapeutic blood levels for 72 hours.

Sub-Q, IM, or IV administration in cattle.

Advantages

Bio-Mycin 200 is gentle on cattle, has a 28-day withdrawal time for cattle and swine, achieves therapeutic blood levels for 72 hours.


Dosage & Administration

Administer Sub-Q, IM, or IV to beef cattle, lactating and non-lactating dairy cattle. A single dose of 9 mg/lb for Sub-Q or IM injections treats bacterial pneumonia caused by Pasteurella spp, shipping fever; pinkeye caused by M bovis. Administer 3 to 5 mg/lb for Sub-Q, IM, or IV injection to treat severe foot rot, other advanced cases of indicated diseases. See label for swine.


Precautions

Exceeding the highest recommended dosage level of drug per pound of body weight per day, administering more than the recommended number of treatments and/or exceeding 10 mL IM or Sub-Q per injection site to adult beef cattle dairy cattle may result in residues beyond the withdrawal period.

Warning

Discontinue treatment after Sub-Q or IM use 28 days prior to slaughter of cattle or swine. Milk taken from animals during treatment and for 96 hours after the last treatment must not be used for food. Consult a veterinarian if improvement is not noted within 24 to 48 hours after initial treatment. Store at controlled room temperature 15° - 30° C (59° - 86° F). Keep from freezing.
