Description
Lysigin® is a lysed culture of highly antigenic polyvalent somatic antigen containing phage types I, II, III, IV and miscellaneous groups of Staph aureus.
Features
Extensively tested in controlled studies and in field studies.
Contains five different phage types of Staph aureus.
Includes capsular serotypes 5, 8, 336.

Reduces chronicity of infection when a vaccination program starts at an early age.

Dosage & Administration
Using aseptic technique inject a single 5 mL dose IM in cattle. Repeat in 14 days. Follow with a single 5 mL booster dose each 5 to 6 months. Start vaccinating all heifers at 6 months of age.
Precautions
Store out of direct sunlight at a temperature between 35° - 45° F (2° - 7° C). Avoid freezing. Shake well before using. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Anaphylactoid reactions may occur.
Antidote: Epinephrine.
Uses
Lysigin is recommended for vaccination of healthy, susceptible cattle against mastitis caused by Staph aureus.
